Ashley Dyer
Violin
Violinist Ashley Dyer enjoys a multifaceted career as a performing artist and educator. She has performed with a variety of solo artists, including Itzhak Perlman, Andrea Bocelli, Renée Fleming, Audra McDonald, Rachel Barton Pine, Rod Stewart, and Belle and Sebastian. Ashley has also performed with the Columbus Symphony, the Toledo Symphony, the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra, and the Flint Symphony Orchestra.
A dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, Ashley currently teaches with Suzuki Music Columbus in Ohio. Ashley is registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and she completed long-term training for Violin Books 1-10 with Joanne Bath in Greenville, NC. In recent years, she has participated in the Paul Rolland String Pedagogy Workshop, as well as teaching workshops with Almita Vamos and Simon Fischer. Ashley has served on the faculty of summer festivals at Interlochen Arts Camp (MI) and the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival’s Summer Chamber Music Institute (NC). In 2020 and 2021, Ashley served as head string adjudicator for the Progressive Musicians online competition.
Prior to relocating to Columbus, Ashley served for many years as Concertmaster of both the Dearborn Symphony and the University of Michigan musical theatre pit orchestra. Additionally, she has performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the National Repertory Orchestra (CO), the Lake Tahoe Music Festival Orchestra (CA), and as soloist with the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra (NC). From 2013-2019, Ashley completed numerous tours across the US, China, and Japan as Assistant Concertmaster of the Hollywood Concert Orchestra (HCO), performing at world-renowned venues such as Beijing's National Centre of Performing Arts and Sapporo's Suntory Hall.
Ashley holds a Bachelors in Violin Performance from East Carolina University and a Masters in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan. Her primary teachers include Ara Gregorian and Yehonatan Berick. Ashley currently resides in Columbus with her husband, clarinetist Mark Kleine, and their beautiful daughter, Daisy.
