2020/2021 Suzuki Music Columbus Calendars
Suzuki Music Columbus offers a comprehensive program consisting of regular private lessons and a group class experience that builds on work done in the private lessons, provides performing experiences, and a fosters a supportive peer group of musician friends.
Your Suzuki Music Columbus Faculty will provide rewarding and meaningful musical connections and teaching through distance learning. Although in-person experiences are preferred, we have discovered many interesting new ideas for successful pedagogy in the Zoom format and continue to learn. We will continue to evaluate options as we move through the school year.
North Branch & James Road students are all integrated into classes on Zoom. We have created smaller class sizes to allow a better distance learning experience. We may on occasion combine a couple of classes to expand peer interactions. Solo performance opportunities will be approximately once a month as noted on the calendar, and will take place either within the individual group classes or as program-wide recitals of mixed instruments and levels. We will open the year with a “play-along”, which is similar to a “play-in” but you will only hear the leader and yourself. We are still working on ideas for the Winter Celebration Concert, but it will likely be a mix of “play-along” and solo performance.
