North Branch Calendar

Suzuki Music Columbus offers a comprehensive program consisting of regular private lessons and a group class experience that builds on work done in the private lessons, provides performing experiences, and a fosters a supportive peer group of musician friends.

 

Private Lesson Schedule:

Private lessons are once a week as scheduled with your teacher.  Lesson times are typically scheduled on a Monday through Thursday in the "after school" hours, with some morning lessons offered to preschool and homeschool students.  The calendar for private lessons is typically 42 weeks of the year with 10 weeks off for holidays and breaks.

4:45 – 5:30 Technique Classes (books 1-4)
5:30 – 5:45 Solo Recital (all students attend)
5:45 - 6:00 Community Snack Time (all students welcome)                                 

6:00 – 6:30 Musicianship Classes (books 2-4)
6:00 - 7:30 Antonio Ensemble

Sometimes, the Tuesday group class schedule is adjusted slightly to allow for special performance opportunities, guest artist teachers, or celebration events during the school year. ​

June 8-13 ​SMC Summer Camp @ Otterbein University, Westerville

(Summer camp hosted at Otterbein University) – online registration is available starting in February 2020.  All SMC students are strongly encouraged to attend! Deadline is May 15 (after May 15 contact us for consideration to register late)

*SMC Community Service Day (3/10/20 - North Branch): This is an opportunity for SMC families to give service by performing concerts in our community.  Venues include nursing homes, assisted living homes, hospitals, and shelters.  Each group of 10-12 children will have a tour group member and faculty member as the musical leaders and parent chaperones/drivers.  All students are expected to participate and Suzuki Music Columbus will present as many as five simultaneous concerts. If you have ideas for possible service concert venues contact Doug or Susan Locke.  A parent volunteer coordinates these community service concerts.
